At its core, this book is a collaboration between the author and the dozens of former 3Comers that were interviewed for the story. The finished result has been vividly colored by the collective memories and unforgettable stories that they shared. During these sessions, Jeff asked colleagues and former execs the same three questions about their background and time at 3Com:
What occurred in your formative years that got you where you are today?
How did you arrive at 3Com?
And most importantly, tell me your story and history with the company – the good, bad, and the ugly.
While each interview became its own unique depiction of the company, common themes about 3Com certainly emerged across perspectives. Many reflected on their time at 3Com as some of the more formative years of their lives, and many also commended 3Com for the positive and fair culture it championed over the years. A good portion of interviewees emphasized that the skills they learned at 3Com enabled them to go on to greater successes after they left the company. There are so many never-before-shared stories woven throughout the book, but, to uncover everything, including the good, the bad, and definitely the ugly, stay tuned for the official release.
