A park by any other name would smell as sweet...

Bob Metcalfe reminded us recently, "Just think of the money we’d have saved if Howard [Charney] had suggested in June 1979 that I name the startup “Candlestick Networks! I proposed Packetronics, Inc. and 4Co, which became 3Com Corporation on June 4th, 40 years ago".

We tell the story about Candlestick Park and the road to calling it 3Com Park in our just released book. With Chris Paisley's narrative, (3Com's beloved CFO) he walks us down the controversial road and how 3Com became one of the first corporate sponsors of a ball park in the 1990s, and what a great outcome it was (for 3Com), even if it wasn't liked by all.
